Biography

Dr. Rima did her training in the USA; she completed her residency in Pediatrics in 1998 at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia, and her fellowship in neonatal perinatal medicine at University of Louisville, Koair Children Hospital in Louisville Kentucky, USA. She obtained the American Board Certifications in both pediatrics and neonatal- perinatal medicine. She started her career in USA, where she held several leading positions in the field of both pediatrics and neonatology from 1998 to 2005. Dr Rima relocated to Saudi Arabia at the end of 2005 to join Saad Specialist Hospital in Alkhobar, KSA where she was appointed as the in charge consultant neonatologist and helped to establish level 3 NICU with the introduction of iNO and high frequency ventilation. In December 2009, DR. Rima relocated to Dubai, UAE and she was appointed the Section Head of NICU and helped to establish level 3 NICU in the two reputable hospitals, DR. Sulaiman alhabib hospital then Alzahra hospital Dubai, where she is currently the head of the neonatal services. Dr Rima is able to offer the latest, optimal services to treat the majority of neonatal diseases in addition to the care of complex neonatal diseases including complex surgical and cardiac diseases using the most advanced state of art equipments ranging from high frequency ventilation, conventional mechanical ventilation and both invasive and noninvasive modalities of ventilations. Dr. Rima is a well-known speaker at international conferences in pediatrics and neonatology. Her professional memberships include the American Academy of pediatrics section of neonatal -perinatal medicine; she has been American heart association affiliated NRP instructor since year 2000 She speaks English and Arabic.
